PMG DeJoy updates the board on the Postal Service’s progress under Delivering for America

"...“This effort has been engaged with historic intensity by the postal leadership and its employees across the country to carry out a long overdue transformational change,” DeJoy said.

He delivered his remarks during the board’s May 9 meeting in Washington, DC, where he also discussed the organization’s new environmental sustainability goals, as well as efforts to reduce transportation costs, combat postal crime and implement organizational changes to better compete in the marketplace.

Postal Service Outline Five-Day Delivery Proposal

Next Postal Service Board of Governors Meeting is March 24


WASHINGTON — The Board of Governors of the U.S. Postal Service will meet in open session March 24 at Postal Service headquarters, 475 L’Enfant Plaza, SW. The public is welcome to observe the meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m., in the Ben Franklin Room on the 11th floor. The Board is expected to discuss the following items:

Wednesday, March 24 at 8:30 a.m.

1. Minutes of previous meetings
2. Remarks of the Chairman of the Board
3. Remarks of the Postmaster General and CEO
4. Amendments to Board bylaws
5. Appointment of committee members and committee reports
6. Quarterly report on service performance
7. Five-day delivery presentation
8. Tentative agenda for the May 4-6, 2010, meeting in Washington, DC.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
