Richmond police need help finding these people after postal worker robberies

"... Police said the postal workers were targeted for their mail key.

The United States Postal Service encourages people to deposit mail at secure locations, including inside your local post office or at your place of business, or hand it directly to the letter carrier.

Police ask anyone with information about these robberies to call First Precinct Detective T. Wilson at (804) 646-0672 or Fourth Precinct Detective J. Land at (804) 646-3103 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. The P3 Tips Crime Stoppers app for smartphones may also be used. All Crime Stoppers reporting methods are anonymous. ..."

Graffiti plagues USPS vehicles in Oakland, raising safety concerns

"... Mail carriers are continuing their routes despite many USPS trucks and vans often displaying graffiti that obscures their logos and makes them look unrecognizable as federal government vehicles.

1 employee dead in shooting at USPS center, suspect at large: Police

"A postal employee was shot and killed at the United States Postal Service Processing and Distribution Center in Tukwila, Washington, on Tuesday... The shooter fled the scene and has not been located as of 7 p.m. local time, according to police.

Tukwila police said they have reason to believe the victim and suspect were acquainted, but the motive for the shooting remains unknown...."

Brazos County duo accused of stealing mail & bank cards over the course of 2 years, US

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Officers with the College Station Police Department (CSPD) arrested two people Tuesday when authorities said stolen bank cards and hundreds of pieces of mail were found on the suspects. After responding to a call about a suspicious car from a gas station employee, CSPD arrived to the Chevron on FM 158 to find Tarah Hill, 33, of Bryan and Cody Polanco, 24, of Katy asleep inside. During a search of the vehicle officers reported finding hundreds of pieces of mail not belonging to neither Hill nor Polanco, 19 bank cards, marijuana and controlled substances, and more than $12,600 in cash. After being arrested Hill admitted the couple stole mail for the last two years, by manufacturing their own keys and breaking into mailboxes. ..."

Moline woman gave report of missing mail to postal worker accused of stealing mail

Alabama | Birmingham man sentenced for unlawful possession of U.S. Postal Key, stolen mail

"...Derrell Allen Matthews, 27, was sentenced to 63 months in prison after he pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy, paying a bribe to a public official, possession of U.S. Postal Service keys, stolen or reproduced, bank fraud and possession of stolen mail.

Alabama | US Postal Service mail vehicle hit by gunfire in Birmingham

"... U.S. Postal Inspectors and the Birmingham Police Department responded to investigate the incident.

According to officials, a suspect fired several shots in the direction of a USPS letter carrier. At least one of those shots hit the windshield of the vehicle, but the postal worker was not injured. The carrier was taken to an area hospital to make sure they weren’t hit by glass fragments.
