Postmaster general responds to Sen. Ossoff’s request for update on Ga. mail delays
"...“For months, I have sustained relentless pressure on USPS management to fully resolve disastrous performance failures impacting my constituents in Georgia,” Ossoff said in a statement Monday. “I’m still hearing from Georgia families and businesses about the difficulty they continue to face sending and receiving their mail. I will not rest until my constituents are well and fully served by the U.S. Postal Service.”

National Association of Letter Carriers rallies for passage of bill to protect postal workers

The proposed legislation addresses the rise in violent crime committed against letter carriers on the job. Since 2020, the organization says there have been more than 2,000 attempted or actual robberies and assaults against postal workers nationwide. The Allied invasion, which began on June 6, 1944, led to the defeat of the Nazis and the end of the war. The assault began with Allied aircraft bombing German defenses in Normandy, followed by around 1,200 aircraft that carried airborne troops. As dawn broke, Allied forces started bombing German coastal defenses and shortly after that vessels began putting troops ashore on five codenamed beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. By the end of the day, nearly 160,000 Allied troops had landed in Normandy, although there were thousands of casualties.

Alabama | US Postal Service mail vehicle hit by gunfire in Birmingham
"... U.S. Postal Inspectors and the Birmingham Police Department responded to investigate the incident.
According to officials, a suspect fired several shots in the direction of a USPS letter carrier. At least one of those shots hit the windshield of the vehicle, but the postal worker was not injured. The carrier was taken to an area hospital to make sure they weren’t hit by glass fragments.
