Over 10,000 USPS employees take early retirement offer, meeting target to shrink workforce
"...Nearly 10,500 USPS employees accepted the voluntary early retirement offer, according to the Postal Service’s financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2025. USPS estimates it spent $167 million making these payments and covering associated payroll taxes.
In January, USPS offered early retirement buyouts to mail handlers who work in the agency’s mail processing facilities, and other USPS employees who work in a variety of support positions. Employees who accepted the offer received a $15,000 separation incentive. ..." Source: federalnewsnetwork.com
